Concerning Shopping

I've never been one of those girls who finds the gratification of life within a mall. Don't get me wrong, I have always enjoyed a little shopping. I've just never felt, like so many other normal young women I know, the urge to "shop 'til you drop."
Lately, however, I have really been in the mood for new clothes. Maybe it is the changing weather that triggers my childhood remembrance of buying "vacation clothes." Maybe it's the fact that I am purging and ridding myself of a mountain of previously loved items. Maybe it's the new job, Easter, or just plain want. It's not ungratefulness or anything, just a little craving for the new. Regardless of the reason, I think I am going to have to satisfy my craving soon.
Anyone want to join me?

  1. Me! Me! I want to join you in shopping! :) However, I just need casual clothes, maybe a pair of capris or two, and definitely a few shirts. My wardrobe mostly consists of thrift store finds and cheap shirts from Target or Walmart. I want something nicer and more presentable. I'm not getting any younger ;).

    Happy shopping!

  2. I think I may join you, but I'm leaning toward actually making something for myself. In the last 14 years, my Mom made me a skirt for a company party my husband had and I (with help) made myself a dress to match Easter dresses that I made for my girls. I've worn very few skirts or dresses over the last several years, but at my current size I'm anti shorts. I wear a ton of capris, but I'm thinking a few summery casual skirts and sundresses are in order. Surely I can pull those off myself, without having to spend a ton-o funds.

  3. Oh my goodness, good to know I'm not the only one who hits up the thirft stores. And I am a faithful patron of my target as well :)

I would love to make myself some clothes! I have a whole pile of "to-fix, alter, etc" but I really don't know what I am doing so I haven't gotten around to it :)
